Storms, storms, go away.

One of my favorite movies is Twister. I really love it, especially Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. :D I remember they have underground shelters or storm cellars to hide in when a tornado comes, sometimes they used makeshift ones like the underground mechanic shop near the drive-in.

It’s good to see storms in movies but I really don’t like them in real life, especially when they cause excessive flooding. I remember how bad it was during Ondoy and flooding happened again during the other two storms, Peping and Mina.

Food overload.

We’ve been going to the grocery a lot these past couple of weeks and I think I’m gaining more weight because of it. >.< We’ve been enjoying tuna sandwiches, fried cream dory fillets, pancit canton (not the instant ones), nachos and pasta. Even my siblings are saying their gaining weight. xD

My Mom was complaining a little bit since her friends have been saying that she is gaining weight, but I’d rather gain weight because I am able to eat, than lose weight because I have nothing to eat. :)

Dropping the pounds.

Since Christmas season is fast approaching, many people are trying to find ways to lose weight again. I guess it’s really just a cycle, people try to lose weight for the holidays and the summer season. I’ve seen some increase in searches for hcg shots for weight loss, diet pills, slimming coffees and l-carnatine.

I think I’ll just try to control my food intake this holiday season and I’ll do my best to lessen the sugary food and drinks I consume. I need to drink more water and leave out powdered juices (like iced tea mixes) and softdrinks from my diet. I know they’re not good for me, it’s just hard to resist temptation when everyone is having it at home.

Gifts for hubbies.

I had a chat with my married friends the other day and one of the topics that came up was about hubby gifts. Some suggested power tools since they have hubbies who loves them, while some said golf clubs, sports tickets and bbq grills are also good ideas if you have a big budget.

However if you’re a bit tight for cash when gifting time arrives, Anne suggested hand-dipped football berries as a good romantic birthday gift for your husband (or possibly other sports-themed hand-dipped fruits). I don’t think your hubby would complain too much if you get to spend a little lovey-dovey time to enjoy your hand-dipped gift with a glass of wine while seated on a soft blanket beside the fireplace. :)

Replacing my old watches.

I have lots of watches that relatives bring home as gifts but I only have two special watches that I really use and treasure. The first one is a Swiss Army watch that my aunt gave me. I really treasure it because this aunt has helped me a lot for the past 10+ years and she continues to help our family up to now. Whenever I wear it, I always remember how much she’s helped me in school and how much she cares for all of us. The other watch is a Fossil one and was given to me by my Mom when I was still in college. It’s a pretty silver and pink colored watch with crystals. Since it’s a bit old now, I already lost around 3 of the crystals and it’s starting to look a bit battered. xD

I’m thinking of getting a watch for myself. I saw St. Moritz watches online and I really liked some of the styles I saw. I’m really interested in the Momentum® M50 Mark II (Stainless Steel) and the two-toned Momentum Stella Maris watch. The first one is perfect for active days while the second one is more feminine which I can wear when I have meetings or when I go to events. :)
