Piano.

I remember I used to take piano lessons when I was in kindergarten. I wish I continued it instead of stopping since I really want to play the piano now. I’m thinking of getting myself a portable keyboard that I can practice on. I’m looking for used ones since I’m on a limited budget and the one I was supposed to buy off from a friend didn’t work out. I’m now looking for possible sellers of their old yamaha ypt-300 since it looks like it’ll be able to handle all the features I’m looking for.

Our relatives came home from the US for a visit and they gave me their old generation 2 black Macbook. It’s still running under Tiger and the battery needs to be replaced, apart from that, the machine is in a really good condition and is running beautifully. I’m planning to upgrade the OS to at least Snow Leopard and once I get more funds, get a new battery, upgrade the RAM to 4GB, upgrade the storage to 500GB-1TB and maybe upgrade to Lion.

I still need a bit of practice using it since I grew up using PCs. Right now I’m still using the HP laptop for graphics and web work. I’ve been watching old movies that was left on the machine, maybe I should try and win some netflix coupons from giveaways and contests. I got to watch Blindside again (and I really really love Sandra Bullock in that one) as well as Ratatouille and The Guardian. I want to start watching all the old movies I missed before now. xD

It’s now a new year which means it’s time for a fresh start. I know that many of us have resolutions to lose weight and get fit this year so there are definitely lots of Athletic Trainer Jobs available this year. I know this will be my year. I’m welcoming all the positive things that the water dragon will give me, I’m an ox baby so I know I can work through anything.

New Year, old memories.

I remember when I was younger, we used to go to Pangasinan to celebrate the New Year on the church we used to attend there. We’d leave on the morning of the 31st, arrive late at night and attend the mass that end just after midnight when the fireworks fill the sky. Then we’d travel back home to Batangas to spend the New Year morning there.

There wasn’t much cars or other vehicles on the roads but there were lots of roadside assistance because there are travelers who get into minor accidents when they drive into something due to the morning fog and the remnants of the midnight fireworks. We stopped going to that church but I still miss them. I spent a great deal of my childhood there and I just can’t help reminisce whenever the Christmas season and New Year comes.

It’s started to get really cold here a week before Christmas and we’ve been told the cold air will last until early January because of the breeze from Siberia. We’re used to it since we have it each year, however I think it’s gone colder this year. I can’t sleep without a blanket anymore. >.<

I'm thinking of looking at some outdoor thermometers that we can afford so we can check how cold it gets. Our dogs sleep outside so I don’t want them to feel cold, if it gets really chilly, we can bring them inside. It doesn’t get as cold as Baguio here but for us it’s already pretty cold and chilly.

Gift issues.

I’m still trying to figure out if I can give out gifts this Christmas. I don’t have enough funds this year so I am hoping to get something cheap but useful for my family and friends. I know they understand my money situation but I still would like to buy them something.

I hope I get enough moolah before Christmas, if not I’ll just try to make it up on their birthdays.

I currently share a room with my 4 siblings (technically 3 since one of my sisters only visit every other week since she works in alabang) and decorating the room is a huge task. Since I’m the eldest, my decisions weigh more than what they want so I have full discretion on how our room will look like. Since we’re getting an AC soon, we need beddings that will match well with the curtains we bought. I prefer neutral and calming colors so I decided to search online for inspiration. I found peacock alley bedding and found a couple of designs I liked. I really loved the Tivoli and Marcella, and the Corsica design looked really nice too. Since they ship internationally, I can order there or I can just ask our relatives to order it and have them ship it to us through a Balikbayan box.

Watching movies at home now.

I haven’t really watched movies in theaters since DVDs and torrents. I only go to the cinema for local movies that isn’t usually available in DVD and torrents. The last time I went to the cinema was during my dinner and movie date with my siblings for the first part of Harry Potter 7. The other time I went for a movie in a theater before that was with my bestfriend and we watched The Guardian, which starred Ashton Kutcher and Kevn Costner.

We’re shopping around for speakers that we can use for our movie nights. There are lots of choices online like the Energy speakers which seems like a good one to get since our main purpose for the speakers would be movie screening. I’m just not sure if there’s a local store selling it. I’ve been searching for good brands and products online so I have a good list with me when we go speaker hunting on our local malls.

Food overload.

We’ve been going to the grocery a lot these past couple of weeks and I think I’m gaining more weight because of it. >.< We’ve been enjoying tuna sandwiches, fried cream dory fillets, pancit canton (not the instant ones), nachos and pasta. Even my siblings are saying their gaining weight. xD

My Mom was complaining a little bit since her friends have been saying that she is gaining weight, but I’d rather gain weight because I am able to eat, than lose weight because I have nothing to eat.

Since Christmas season is fast approaching, many people are trying to find ways to lose weight again. I guess it’s really just a cycle, people try to lose weight for the holidays and the summer season. I’ve seen some increase in searches for hcg shots for weight loss, diet pills, slimming coffees and l-carnatine.

I think I’ll just try to control my food intake this holiday season and I’ll do my best to lessen the sugary food and drinks I consume. I need to drink more water and leave out powdered juices (like iced tea mixes) and softdrinks from my diet. I know they’re not good for me, it’s just hard to resist temptation when everyone is having it at home.
