February isn’t such a good month for us especially since we have El Nino. Water supply is less and it seems we’ve been getting black outs every now and then. March is coming soon and we’re expecting intense heat especially since summer is starting. I really need to get an air-conditioning unit for my room because summer will be unbearable if El Nino continues. My two younger siblings will have their normal summer vacation but my third sibling who’s taking up nursing will be busy with school and duties. She’s been spending a lot of time with her class mates and duty group because their CI’s have been expecting lots of input from them. I even saw her researching about treatments for eczema the other day. Then today she was studying about pregnant patients, it seems they’ll be moving to the maternity ward for their next duty. I don’t know how nursing students manage to do all the things required from them. I don’t think I have the guts to do what they do.
Chronicles of Nika
Nika’s bumpy but worth it journey on finding herself.
Moving stuff around.
One of the hardest things in life is moving. Not just emotionally but also physically. Hauling stuff around isn’t easy especially if you have some big furniture lying around. I haven’t really tried local movers yet since we always use a relative or friend’s truck or van to help move things around. Although if we have to move again somewhere far from Batangas, like maybe QC, we’d have to get our stuff hauled with big mover trucks already. My sister who just moved from her condo unit to my grandmother’s house, had to get her stuff three times using a car. Waste of gas if you ask me.
Renovated the room.
Been busy the past few weeks with renovations done on the room. Had lots of woodworking done so I haven’t been able to do much but keep an eye as they worked on the pieces I wanted. Hopefully February will be easier in terms of housework load. Although I have to siblings whose birthday falls this month so we might be a little busy with celebrations, especially since my third sibling is turning 18.
Wash, dry and go.
Mom has been talking about getting herself a wrinkle cream. She wants to try Olay and see if it works. I’m not a face cream person so I don’t exactly share her enthusiasm. I do care for my face, I just can’t stick with the regimen other women seem to have when it concerns their faces. I usually just wash my face and I’m done. I don’t like high maintenance regimens which not only costs expensive but also takes so much of my time.
Working at home.
Everyone can do with a little extra income working from home, I know I do. I’m still looking for a job so at the moment my income comes from online work and blogging. Its a good way to earn while being at home. If Mom wasn’t too adamant that I find a “real” (ie. traditional) job, I’d be happy to keep working online at home. I graduated with a business degree so they want me to utilize it by working on brick and mortar institutions. Sadly my heart is on working with the internet and they can’t seem to understand that. Maybe if I find an online venture which will help me earn more than an office job, they’d listen.
Wishes.
I’m just happy that I didn’t incur student loans back in college. My sister did, and we hope we can pay it back this year so she can go back to school again. Hopefully by may this year, she’ll be back in college. I hope I have a stable income by then so I can help her out. I also hope we get to establish our own business so that we can all have a good life.
Chilly October.
It has started to get chilly here in Batangas since the Christmas season is fast approaching. I think we need to get some heated mattress pads because I can’t sleep properly at night because I still feel cold even with lots of blankets covering me. All these typhoons have been bringing strong cold winds and many people in the house are getting sick with coughs and colds. I think we should invest in heated pads. I think it might help Dad even.
Allergic much?
My sister’s skin is breaking out again so I’m trying to see if I can find any information on best acne treatments. She’s got really sensitive skin and is the only one who is allergic to everything. She can’t even wear perfumes because it makes her skin swell. She can only use Calgon because it doesn’t make her skin all red and blistered. Maybe its her shampoo or conditioner that’s the culprit. She did change it earlier. Hmmm…
