I’ve tried a bit of weight loss products in the past and I think part of the reason why it failed on me was my failure to follow through. Sometimes when I started feeling a little discomfort, I stopped taking them. I’ve wasted some of the things I bought due to that. I might try it again and see if i can really finish the whole pack just to see if the stuff really works.
Chronicles of Nika
Nika’s bumpy but worth it journey on finding herself.
Fruits.
I’m thinking of taking vitamins after reading about some information on best vitamins available. Although I’m also considering just increasing my intake of fruits and vegetables each day. I’d love to incorporate as much fruit as possible on my daily diet however fruit can be quite costly. I’m thinking the benefits justifies the cost though, so I might be able to sneak it into my budget. I’d have to check out the fruits in the local market and buy some for this week.
Wash, dry and go.
Mom has been talking about getting herself a wrinkle cream. She wants to try Olay and see if it works. I’m not a face cream person so I don’t exactly share her enthusiasm. I do care for my face, I just can’t stick with the regimen other women seem to have when it concerns their faces. I usually just wash my face and I’m done. I don’t like high maintenance regimens which not only costs expensive but also takes so much of my time.
Goodbye nightmares.
I used to look for a good over the counter sleeping pill because i couldn’t sleep at night. Since the new year started, I’ve been able to sleep properly at night and wake up refreshed in the morning. I think leaving the worries and disappointments of 2009 helped significantly in restoring my spirit and my physical well-being. I’ve been nightmare free too (apart from one incident which didn’t happen again) so most of my nights have been quiet. Hopefully, I will be able to enjoy peaceful nights for the rest of the year without any worries in mind.
Working at home.
Everyone can do with a little extra income working from home, I know I do. I’m still looking for a job so at the moment my income comes from online work and blogging. Its a good way to earn while being at home. If Mom wasn’t too adamant that I find a “real” (ie. traditional) job, I’d be happy to keep working online at home. I graduated with a business degree so they want me to utilize it by working on brick and mortar institutions. Sadly my heart is on working with the internet and they can’t seem to understand that. Maybe if I find an online venture which will help me earn more than an office job, they’d listen.
Oatmeal.
We’ve all started eating oatmeal daily. My sister did it so she could lose weight since one of her friends tried it and lost a significant amount of weight. I’m eating it simply because I like it. I’ve seen oatmeal being shown in the television as a good way to combat cholesterol so were making Dad eat it too. It would be a cheaper alternative to the best cholesterol medications available in the country right now. Our younger siblings can also benefit from eating oatmeal so I think we’re going to stock up on them. I’d rather have them eat oatmeal for snacks than junk foods.
Life changes in 2010.
2009 wasn’t a very good year for me. The only happy thing I remember about it was my graduation from college. I gained a lot of weight the last quarter of 2009 because I was feeling so depressed and had no motivation at all. This year, I want to really make the most out of my life and that means I will tackle my weight issues for real. I’d like to experience outdoor fun and adventures this year so I need to get in shape so I can enjoy these kinds of activities.
I want to be able to run as much as I want without feeling tired and out of air after a few blocks.
I want to be able to climb hills and mountains without panting and getting nauseous from exhaustion after a few meters.
I want to be able to swim, ride a bike, walk the trails and feel happy, not sick.
I may not be able to get myself one of those home gyms due to budget constraints, but I promise myself that I will do the best I can for myself. This is my life and its the only one I got.
Redecorating and untidying my room.
New year, means new me.
I’ve decided that my room was looking a bit gloomy and that it needed some more space. Since I’m trying to find a better rack for my old and disheveled computer, I’ve decided to ditch my small television to clear up some room. I’ll get the tv back (or maybe a better one) once I get a slicker computer table and a separate mount for my tv from an array of tv stands on the department store.
I also need to ditch the double-deck bed on my room and get either a single or junior sized mattress with a wooden base. 2010 is my year and I want it away from clutter.
My spiffy new year gadgets.
I got some new gadgets to play with a the other day and so far I’m loving them. I got myself a 32gb iPod Touch and a Nokia e63. I would have gotten them before the new year started but it was out of stock from the store I got them from. It was cheaper than other stores, not too sure if as cheap as circuit city when they were still around, though. I’m enjoying some new apps and software and I think all my siblings want their own Touches (not too sure how its plural form is spelled) to play with.
My debt-free 2010.
I’ve been offered life insurance before and I’m thinking of investing in one this year. It can be a good investment and I am definitely considering it after I get a job. I’m also interested in opening an account and start saving up for my future. I want to have some capital for a business that I want to start and I would like to be able to live without much monetary worries. I’ve also started to be strict in my expenditures and I have avoided buying anything with credit as much as possible. It has worked for me before and I am planning to keep it that way. I’d rather save up for the amount I need for an item I want, rather than using a credit card. For me, interest is good if they come from money I invested, not if it came from my debts.
