Still no dsl connection from PLDT.

I think the customer service representatives of PLDT is getting peeved at me. :D I called them again twice today because when I first called in the morning, the guy that answered said that my dsl was still being processed for completion and to wait until the afternoon for it to get reinstated. So I did that and watched Totally Spies, Phineas and Ferb, Mysterious Ways, Medium, Rachel Ray, Barefoot Contessa and other television shows until I decided to call them again because I still don’t have my dsl connection back and it was already late. A girl answered and this time she apologized saying that they had a service error and my account was included that’s why it wasn’t connected yet today. She said to try it tomorrow. >.<

So I'll try it again tomorrow, hopefully I get the dsl working already because I really need to read up about global business and financial topics right now. And my pocket is empty already from loading prepaid credits just to get an internet access over the air. -sigh-

PLDT DSL still not activated.

I called 171 PLDT’s customer service hotline again today. Still received the same response to wait until the afternoon to get the internet service connected. Night came still no sign of the internet connection. So I would have to call them again tomorrow and get any information from them as to the status of my dsl service. I’ve been spending so much money for prepaid credits on my sister’s Smart sim card just so I can access the internet at home using her mobile phone (Nokia N70) as a modem. I wish PLDT would improve their processing and service.

Class Meeting # 3: Done.

We finally hit the magic 13 needed to get our PRODMAN turned into a regular class. So Mr. Bolinao started giving an overview for operations management earlier and went into discussing the global crisis we are facing right now. He talked about how it started with the bankruptcy of Lemahn, then the bailouts for AIG, Citigroup and other companies. I have to read more about where everything started and the turn of events that happened after that. Being back in school meant I have to start reading the news seriously again which I had stopped doing when I stopped attending classes. I honestly didn’t understand it at first but after sir’s explanation, it upped my curiosity. So I’m going to try and find more information and watch CNN or Bloomberg when I can.

RELSFOR was uneventful. Our professor didn’t show up. So I went ahead and picked up the books I reserved from the Pahiram Libro which is a project of the Student Council. I picked up two religion text references, one is the Compendium of the Social Doctrines of the Catholic Church and the other one is a book by Gorospe, I think its called, Forming the Filipino Social Conscience or something close to that.

ENGLTRI was good. I shared a quote that I liked and I chose an excerpt from Paulo Coehlo’s The Alchemist. The one that said something like, “Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than suffering itself.” That was really significant for me because I was so scared of going back to school after my long absence from the university. For next meeting, I have to come up with a product idea that I will be using for my sales presentation. Its a speech class and we have 3-4 individual speeches plus one group presentation which would be a panel discussion. I haven’t anything good in mind, I figured if Mom and I can find some decent packaging I can just try and bake a cake or some cinnamon rolls and use that. I’d rather bring something edible since it can double as my lunch or snack. Haha.

I wasn’t able to sleep much before I went to school because our dogs were noisy, so I ended up sleeping an hour before Mom woke me up. So on the way home, I slept on the bus till we got to Tanauan. Yay for cool buses like the Batangas StarExpress. :D I love big buses. I’m so sleepy now. >.<

P.S. I called PLDT’s customer service today. turns out my DSL reactivation is still in the processing queue. They are so slow. Seriously. >.>

No DSL still.

I am annoyed. My PLDT DSL has not been reconnected yet. My phone line has been reinstated but my DSL which is what I really need is still not working. We called their business office here in Tanauan but they said we would have to wait until their Manila office re-activates it. >.< Sheesh. I should have just asked them to cut my whole subscription instead of paying it last week. -sigh- Good thing my sister leaves her N70 at home when she goes to school at times so I load it up and use it as my modem. I think my Globe sim (which was given in DLSU) doesn’t work for surfing the internet. I tried to use it before but it doesn’t work, so I have been using my sister’s Smart sim card (which was issued by her school, Lyceum).

Class Meeting # 2: Done.

I got home around 4pm earlier. I got to school really early today. I arrived around 7:00 am. Yay me! During the first hour of our PRODMAN class, we were still 8 students. By the time the class ended, we were 12 so we need at least 1 more student to make it a regular class. If we don’t, we would need to petition for it to be a special class. I’m fine with that. RELSFOR class came and our professor said that the final student list came in and we were just 9. Yikes. So they are still trying to make arrangements with the OUR (Office of the University Registrar) to see what will happen to us. >.< My ENGLTRI professor finally came this meeting, yay! She let us go early though. Haha.

Oh well, second meeting has been quite eventful. We already have assignments for all 3 subjects. I’ll do them tomorrow. I wasn’t able to sleep last night (darned mosquitoes) so I am so sleepy now.

Hunting for Yummy and F&B World magazine back issues.

The back issue of Yummy magazine that I bought last Wednesday has some really interesting recipes and articles. I’m thinking of scouring BookSale again sometime soon to find more back issues of it to jumpstart my collection. I only have the September 2007 issue so I think I have a bit to collect. :) I like back issues because they’re cheaper than new issues. Makes it very convenient for my limited budget.

I might start collecting Entrepreneur magazines again. I have a bit of them collected already but I lost interest on them last year so I didn’t buy new ones. I’m going to try and find some back issues of F&B World magazines. I found them last year when I attended the MAFBEX 2008 and I really liked the issues that I was able to buy. Hopefully I can find more back issues of it soon. I looked at BookSale in Robinson’s Lipa but they don’t have it there. -sigh-

I’ll be back in school again tomorrow, hopefully more students got into my first 2 subjects. We need more people to make it a regular class.

Dr. You Project

Hmmm, had some of those Korean choco-mallow like stuff that Dad brought. My little brother and sister didn’t like it. I liked it though. Haha. Its really soft unlike the local version that we have. Its called, Dr. You Project. I think, not really sure because the logo was shown though I think its a part of the Dr. You Project. Lol. According to its packaging, its a Chocolate Pie with Marshmallow Cream.

Sometimes, I think Koreans are so lucky. They have all these delightful foodstuffs (Dad gets lots of them, usually of the chocolate variety) that I don’t see much in local stores. Though I really can’t stand the ginseng ones. The smell is too strong for me, though my grandmother on Dad’s side seem to like it a lot. We end up sending her the bottled ginsengs and ginseng candies given to us most of the time. Dad keeps the ginseng teas though. They’re good for stomach pains and he makes us drink it whenever our stomachs would feel painful.

Homemade bath soaps, bath salts and body scrubs.

I was channel hopping when I bumped over Lifestyle Network’s DIY show called Creative Juice. Hmm, it suddenly gave me an idea. I wonder where I can buy glycerine (white and clear ones), oil essences, oils, molders, sea salts, containers (plastic and glass), packaging materials and a blower or heat gun? I tried to search online and found a seller of Epsom/sea salts in Sulit.ph though its quite expensive. -sigh-

I want to try making my own bath soaps and scrubs. Maybe give some to my friends too. I just realized, I’m not into stuffy things. I like the arts where I can use my hands to make stuff creatively. Tsk. My love for baking should have been a hint to me already. Haha. By the way I searched online for their show and found the exact episode I watched earlier. The episode is named, Pamper Yourself Gift Basket. I missed the first part where they were making the lip balms, I only saw them attach the sticker label for that. Haha.

I watched the news about the black Nazarene feast. Wow. There was so much people. Good thing Les decided not to go to ANSAP and get her ID today. Traffic would be really heavy.

I want my own mini herb garden.

Read the books and magazines I bought yesterday. I’m specifically interested on the herb article. I have been wanting to start my own herb garden for a long time now so I’m thinking its a sign. Haha. I’ll be saving up some funds to get started on my mini garden. I think I’ll start with the usual, rosemary, thyme, parsley, oregano (I miss my luscious oregano plant which they unrooted and killed! -cries-), and some lemongrass. I’m going to see

if I can find tarragon too. I already have an

area near the back kitchen that I can utilize for the mini herb

garden I’m planning. :)

First day of classes, done.

I was late because I got to school around 8:15 am, good thing Mr. Bolinao wasn’t mad. I got to class and there was only 6 or 7 people there. Hopefully more people come in on Monday so that the class wont be dissolved. Mr. Bolinao said this will be the last term PRODMAN (Production Management) will be offered. They’re taking the subject out because OPERMAN (Operations Management) has already replaced it. I really pray that more people come in on Monday. I have to review too because he mentioned if there are just a few people on Monday, we’ll have a quiz on product and service design.

Second class rolled in but the professor didn’t lecture. We were only 8 or present and the confirmed students was at 10, so the professor said it might get dissolved. Like PRODMAN, RELSFOR (Christian Social Teachings) will be offered for the last time this term because TRED4 (Theology and Religious Education?) will replace it. Yikes. I pray more people come in on Monday for this class too. >.<

Since we were let out early on my second class, I had 3 hours to burn before my third class starts. I was so hungry and thirsty because I didn't have dinner last night and I was already late earlier so no breakfast. I decided to check out Z2. Wow, zero-styro policy. They still had plastic though. I bought a chicken burger only because I didn’t see they had tuna available on the sandwhich corner. Since I was so hungry, I figured buying a tuna sandwich wont hurt. ^^ So I headed to the Marian Quadrangle to eat my bread and after I was done, I decided to go to the library. I was very sleepy already so I decided to hide on one of the desks in the third floor and take a short nap to avoid getting my headaches. Woke up 30 minutes before my class in Yuchengco, so I decided to start my walk and avoid the student rush on the elevator.

Good thing I decided to go there early. 2 of the 3 elevators were out of service so everyone will be running after the available elevator to get to their classes. Yuchengco rooms are so cold. Seriously. There were a lot of people coming in the room this time. Seems like ENGLTRI (Advanced Speech Class) is packed so I had less to worry about. 30 minutes rolled by, no professor in sight. Since the 1/3 rule has passed, most of my classmates started leaving, so I followed suit. No use staying around when everyone is gone anyway.

I think I just wasted a few hours of my life there. Bugger. Oh well. So I took a jeepney and headed for the bus station so I can go back home. I called Les (my bestfriend) so we can meet up in Robinson’s Lipa and check something out in CDRKing. I messaged and miscalled the rest of the 3.2 gang, though they were all unavailable, so its just me and Les. We went around and checked a wireless router and adapter from CDRKing, bought some books and magazines (about food and baking, of course) from BookSale, and grabbed some dinner at Binalot. Les had her usual, lumpia, I had my sizzling tuna belly (I’m trying to avoid meat at the moment). We then seperated ways after Les bought her Dulcolax, haha.

I got home around 7 or 8. Oh well, I’m feeling really sleepy now. ‘Nyt.
